Dallas, Texas | September 03, 2023: The rhythm of Bangladesh echoed across North America as Imran and Group launched their much-anticipated U.S. tour with a spectacular performance at the 37th Annual Convention of the Federation of Bangladesh Associations in North America (FOBANA)—one of the largest cultural gatherings of the Bangladeshi diaspora.

Held at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas in Dallas, Texas, the event on September 3, 2023, transformed the venue into a vibrant celebration of Bangladeshi art, music, and identity. Thousands of expatriate Bangladeshis from across the United States and Canada gathered for the multi-day convention, which featured cultural showcases, community networking, local talent, and musical performances rooted deeply in national tradition.

The evening’s highlight came when Imran and Group took the stage, delivering a powerful two-hour live concert that blended modern folk, contemporary pop, and emotional melodies—prompting the crowd to sing, sway, and dance in unison.

Organized by the Bangladesh Association of North Texas (BANT), with cultural programming curated by Deshi Music and Entertainment New York, the concert stood as one of FOBANA’s most memorable nights. The lineup featured local musicians and culturally distinctive Bangladeshi artists, reflecting the evolving global identity of Bangla music.

Responding to continuous audience requests, lead vocalist Mahmudul Imran, alongside popular singers Alamgir Ankhi and Dilshad Nahar Kona, performed a series of crowd-favorite songs, turning the convention hall into a sea of lights, applause, and nostalgia.

As the final notes faded, Imran shared an emotional reflection with the audience:

“When I came to the FOBANA Convention in Dallas, I didn’t feel like I was outside Bangladesh,” he said.
“The people here are true lovers of music. Even while living abroad, they are preserving the art, culture, and traditions of our homeland. Seeing such a huge Bangladeshi-American gathering fills my heart with pride.”

He also expressed gratitude to the community organizations that made the event possible.

“I sincerely thank the associations who brought us to the United States and honored Imran and Group with such warmth and respect,” he added.

The performance marked not only the opening chapter of Imran and Group’s America tour, but also reaffirmed the unbreakable bond between Bangladeshi music and its global audience. As FOBANA once again proved, thousands of miles from home, culture remains a powerful thread—connecting generations through melody, memory, and belonging.
