Victory Day celebrated in Yangon, Myanmar
Yangon : Bangladesh Embassy Yangon celebrated 46th Victory Day with due solemnity and fervor. The day began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Charge d’ affaires, a.i. Hasan Khaled Foisal. All members of the Embassy and a sizable number of Bangladesh expatriates turned out during the flag hoisting ceremony. It was followed by reading out of the messages of the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and state Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.
In the following discussion, inclusion of 7s March speech of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the Memory of the World International Register was also celebrated. The discussants recalled the great sacrifice and farsighted leadership of the father of the nation in bringing independence of Bangladesh. The participants and the Charge d’ affaires, a.i. commended the progress made under present leaderships of the government in attaining numerous landmarks, particularly in socio-economic sector.
The discussants recalled immense contribution of the martyrs with gratitude and highlighted the importance and relevance of the Victory Day as culmination of the long struggle for independence” On this day, a fresh vow was made to play active roles to work for the development of the country. The discussion ended wit*r offering special prayer for the eternal peace of the brave martyrs and continuous progress of the nation.
In the evening a cultural program was organized featuring patriotic, Tagore and Nazrul songs, dance and recitation of poems showcasing rich cultural heritage of Bangladesh. Expatriates Bangladeshi joined along with their family members in the celebration organized by the Embassy.
