Bangladesh High Commission, Singapore hosted an enthralling cultural evening titled “Rhymes and Rhythm from the Hills” at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre on 17 November 2017, presented by artists from the ethnic minority communities living in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) of Bangladesh. This event was a successful showcase and projection of the rich Bangladeshi culture to a culturally vibrant Singapore local and foreign audience. Indeed, it was the second cultural performance successfully organized by the Mission in a span of just four months with renowned artists participating from Bangladesh.
Supported by Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, the event featured dance performances of diverse ethnic minorities of the CHT, each ethnic group presenting its flagship dance, to the loud cheer of the audience. Through their dances, the artists beautifully depicted the colourful lifestyle of the ethnic minorities of Bangladesh and their long cultural heritage.
