Bangladesh Makes its Presence in the IDEF 2017
Istanbul: Bangladesh has taken the opportunity to project its impressive growth and advancements in various sectors including the defence in the 13th International Defence Industry Fair held in Istanbul from 09 May to 12 May 2017. The fair was inaugurated today by Mr. Binali Yildirim, Prime Minister of Turkey. The fair was attended by as many as 781 companies representing 53 countries. Bangladesh Embassy in Ankara and Bangladesh Consulate General in Istanbul have made a visible presence of Bangladesh in the event by securing a designated space for Bangladesh pavilion in the fair. A delegation from Bangladesh led by Major General Md. Masud Razzak is currently visiting Turkey for the purpose.
Alongside displaying latest equipment, technologies and innovations of the global leading companies in the defence, security and maritime sector, the fair authority allocated space to selected embassies/consulates to introduce and promote their respective country. Bangladesh Missions in Turkey secured the opportunity following successful negotiations with the authority concerned. Bangladesh booth has been decorated with photo graphics showcasing our glorious history of independence and richness of our cultural heritage. There are video documentaries being played highlighting our strengths, achievements and progress, especially in the socio-economic and defence fields.
The participation of Bangladesh in this important fair would certainly raise our image and profile in Turkey in particular and in the world at large.
